My goal is to produce Welsh Cobs that are suitable for a variety of levels and disciplines to satisfy the amateur to FEI and International competitors and pleasure rider. Winterlake stock have excelled in dressage, jumping, pleasure driving, combined driving, quadrille, as breeding stock, and trail riding. They have won regional and national championships, compete at open venues, and bring great joy to their owners. In promoting this incredible breed I show in open sport pony/horse classes, have had my cobs inspected in Weser Ems, Westfalen, RHPSI and ASPR. Welsh Cob stallions are chosen for their success in open competitions, my man of choice being North Forks Cardi.
C A R D I
The cornerstone of my breeding program since 2003 is the superstar cob stallion, North Forks Brenin Cardi, bred and acquired from Carol Holcombe. As a 3-year old, Cardi was started and shown by Jessica Wisdom. This team has has moved up through the levels of dressage winning championships [and several Regional Championships] at each level. The magic carpet ride has taken us to Devon in Pennsylvania, to competing with Olympians in California, and many Region 6 championships;. Winterlake continues to produce foals by Cardi and cheer on his many progeny as they compete and win in dressage, eventing, driving and become favorite companions for their owners. Cardi is now proudly owned by Adult Amateur Traci Viers of Aiken, SC.
Winterlake is located at the southern end of the fertile and beautiful Willamette Valley near Eugene in Western Oregon.
Since 1985, I have been breeding, showing and enjoying my favorite breed, Welsh Cobs. The cob mares and stallions have been selected for their bloodlines, type and movement. Kind temperaments and high rideability/trainability are a given in my herd.
My motto is I SELL MY BEST and I do.
